Diving Channel Islands

Explore diving Channel Islands

Offering excellent reefs, wrecks and abundant marine life, diving in Guernsey should be on the list. Whether you are a beginner looking to experience the thrill for the first time, a seasoned diver with many dives logged or an advanced diver looking to push your limits Guernsey offers something for everyone.

A popular shore dive is at Havelet Bay, which provides constant shelter from the tidal streams and compared to other bays relatively deep water. This shore dive provides easy access to a variety of dive environments: reef, sand, gravel and a seaweed forest.

When to dive Channel Islands

The Channel Islands enjoy more sunshine hours each year than the UK which makes it a popular spot for divers. Islanders and visitors make the most of the beautiful beaches and cliff paths in the summer months.

The average water temperature is 15 – 20°C during the summer months (April to October), 6-15°C during the winter months (November- March). Visibility varies depending on the season but will average around 10 meters.
