Lebanon, officially the Republic of Lebanon, is a small, predominantly mountainous country in Western Asia, on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered by Syria to the north and east, and Israel to the south. It's capital being Beirut.

The Lebanese coast is framed by the Mediterranean Sea to the west and the Mount Lebanon Range to the east. There is some good wreck diving in the Lebanon, the Souffleur, a French Vichy submarine at 36 meters. The Alice B which sank to 35 meters during the civil war in Lebanon in the 80s. The

Macedonia, a freighter from 1962 lies at a depth of 16 meters, while The National Star, a freighter that sank in 1991 lies at a depth of 52 meters, when she started taking water.

When to dive in Lebanon

Its temperate climate brings in sunny, hot summers and cool winters. The daytime temperature in the summer, which averages 30°C (86°F), encourages people to head to the beach or to the higher, altitude-cooled mountain slopes.

"Shark Point" during July and August, small tooth sand tiger sharks, a harmless species related to the grey nurse shark, can be seen.
