Diving in South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands

Explore diving in South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands

South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands are British Overseas Territory. These islands are a small, remote, inhospitable archipelago and lie far south in the Atlantic Ocean.

A liveaboard to South Georgia lets you experience the wonders of one of the world’s undiscovered and unspoilt destinations whilst also enjoying polar diving, ice diving, wildlife watching, and diverse shore excursions.

A colony of two hundred thousand King Penguins inhabits the Salisbury Plain, which lies between the mouths of Lucas and Grace glaciers. The beaches nearby are home to countless southern fur seals and massive elephant seals, as well as petrels, terns, albatross, and other rare shore birds.

When to dive in South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands

February-March are usually the best times to enjoy a diving adventure. February and March both offer good chances of spotting whales in the wild.
