Diving We Island

Explore diving We Island

Here on Pulau Weh we are diving all year round. Where the Andaman Sea meets the Indian Ocean, the deep waters and currents around the island sustain an unbelievable amount and variety of marine life. Which is ranging from tiny critters to grand pelagics.

The landscapes on all sites are magnificent and diverse. The average visibility is 20+ meters, and often more than 30 meters, especially when diving deep. The water temperature is usually 28-29 degrees Celsius, with sometimes colder upwellings which bring extremely clear visibility of over 40 meters from the dephts of the open ocean around Weh.

When to dive We Island

We dive the whole year around, but we have influences of the West (strongest in June, July, August) and the East wind seasons (mainly November, December, January).

Towards the end of November we have more wind and rain. End November, December & beginning of January is the wettest period. The visibility on the divesites is very good, with more chance of seeing devil and manta rays.

From February till mid May it's usually dry, sunny and hot, with calm seas.

From May till roughly September, the West season gets most pronounced. It’s still mainly dry and sunny but will have some showers mixed with very sunny periods.

September & October, in between the 2 wind seasons have sunny days with calm seas.

We are in the tropical region, daytime temperatures 27-32 °C, night time 25-30 °C.
