PADI Resort
Since May 2020 we, Harry and Tina Scholz, have been running the Dive and Watersports Center in Watamu. With now 2 locations, we are represented in Watamu Beach Cottages and Jacaranda Beach Resort. Both locations have direct access to the natural sandy beach.
The underwater national park (Watamu Marine National Park & Reserve) is one of the oldest in Africa with many different species of fish, turtles and much more
Fishing is prohibited in the national park. Encounters with turtles, whale sharks, dolphins and manta rays are not uncommon here. There are over 150 species of colorful and healthy hard and soft corals and a wide variety of fish species.
Watamu is also an important breeding area for turtles - mainly green turtles and hawksbill turtles.
At least twice a day we take our boats to one of the about 15 different dive sites on our large reef. All places can be reached within 10 – 25 minutes.
Our high season is from November to March. During the low season, diving at the outer reef cannot be guaranteed. So, we stay at our inner reef which is a beautiful shallow place where we often spot see turtles
