Diving: Some of the world's best diving is found only minutes from the resort. Over 50 dive sites, characterized by spectacular crevices and tunnels opening to breathtaking walls, offer excellent visibity, abundant fish and brilliant corals. Most sites are wihtin 10-20 minutes, and good diving is accessible approximately 40 yards from the beach. There is PADI certified Divemasters, 6 dive boats with the capacity of 5 to 20 divers. The full service dive shop offers a large selection of equipment for rental. Resort courses and certification courses are available. There is a hyperbaric chamber on the Resort.
Fantasy Island Beach Resort - Dive & Marina was built specifically to accommodate the needs of traveling divers. The convenient dive center features dockage for a fleet of six custom 42 foot dive boats directly adjacent to the spacious guest gear storage area, underwater photo center, compressors and equipment rental facility. The famed south shore dive sites are but minutes away.
For those who prefer to dive from shore at their own place, day or night, a unique dive Gazebo places a mysterious shipwreck, a sunken airplane a beautifull shallow reef and dramatic wall diving just a giant stride away.
Water conditions: Expect water temperatures in the low 80F in summer and high 70F in winter. Although visibility can peak at 100 feet or more, expect an average of 80 feet, unless when storms or plankton cloud the water.
