Bait Al Aqaba is a simple yet authentic and welcoming dive resort located overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba.
The dive resort is set back from the coastline on a gradual hill, meaning guests can enjoy beautiful views of the Red Sea and Egyptian mountains beyond. Within this back-to-basics resort, there is a swimming pool, Bedouin tent with comfy seating and outdoor kitchen area. Every guest room comes with a flat screen TV, air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms.
Each morning, help yourself to a breakfast selection which caters well for vegetarians and vegans. Ask the laid-back staff for a cup of mint tea and they'll pick it fresh for you from thier small herb garden. The kitchen remains open on request for lunches, sandwiches, dinners and BBQs. Shisha is available for a chilled out evening and complimented brilliantly by traditional Arabic drinks.
The team at Bait Al Aqaba have developed a deep kinship with the local coral reefs - 'these reefs are like my home' - making this an ideal choice for nature-lovers and budding conservationists. Learn about the local marine life and what can be done to help preserve these amazing yet delicate ecosystems with the only PADI and Reef Check Instructor in town. Even better, go for a FREE dive when picking up litter from the reef - a PADI Travel exclusive. Those interested in an Open Water Course won't go wrong here with calm conditions, colorful marine life and warm seas throughout the year (though July till November is when it's at its warmest).
For some time spent on the beach, head over the road to the public beach or a minute's walk further for Berenice Beach Club (entrance fees applicable - but worth it!). If/when you want to explore Aqaba, its an easy 15 minute drive down the coast (roughly 15 JD per vehicle). It's definitely worthwhile spending one evening exploring the local shops, market stalls and restaurants as you come face to face with countless smiling faces! For something more adventurous, head into Wadi Rum desert for history, hiking and/or rock climbing!
