Marc Z. (Dive Instructor) Recommends SS Tuggerah Wreck
Aug 4, 2022
As a Tec Deep Diver I have done the Tuggerah wreck a number of times and must say when it is on....it is world class and doesn't disappoint. The wreck is 45m deep so deep training is a must. When conditions are great, this wreck has an abundance of marine life from schools of yellowtail, wobbegongs, blue wrasse, free swimming eels, octopus, morning, snapper, trumpet emperor and more. The mid ship to stern section of the wreck is relatively intact with a swim around the boiler and prop a grand site when the visibility is good. But the site requires you to have tec training and can be prone to strong currents especially with very clear blue water.....so expect that at times it may not be the right choice when conditions do not prevail....but be patient and when the conditions come into play the Tuggerah is a memorable dive site, and probably one of the best wreck dives around Sydney and even the NSW coast.
