Most scuba diving takes place at Lake Minnewanka or Two Jack Lake in Banff National Park.
Lake Minnewanka is 1450m above sea level, 18km long with a maximum depth of 100 m. All dives at Lake Minnewanka are cold water, altitude dives.
Two Jack Lake in Alberta sits 12km from Banff. It has three different areas for diving and diving is also accessible on Lake Minnewanka. Named ‘Water of the Spirits’ Lake Minnewanka is a glacial lake fed by the Cascade River, and the largest body of water in Banff National Park.
Diving in Alberta will require at least a 7mm or a dry suit is advisable in the winter months. Depth ranges from 6m/20ft to 15m/49ft and there is no current. Visibility ranges from 5-10 metres (16-32 feet).
