As the sun peeks over the horizon at around 530am, a cluster of boats is preparing to dive in the middle of the Visayan sea. As you descend you find a world beneath, covered in colourful corals and and a multitude of fish awakening with the sunlight.
Control your buoyancy and your breathing and try to stay calm, but keep your eyes peeled and your camera at the ready... This location is where Thresher Sharks come to visit on a daily basis, to have their bodies cleaned of parasites and dead skin by the reef's resident cleaner fish of several different species.
If you're lucky, you'll glimpse the thresher shark approaching and if you stay still, and don't disturb the shark, they may circle around for more cleaning giving you the change to really get close and enjoy the experience.
