One of the most famous fish are groupers. Sea bream, squid, barracuda and moray eels.
Sea anemones and hard corals cling to the rocky ground. Numerous sea creatures find shelter in the numerous underwater caves. In particular, the south - west of Mallorca, between Palma and El Toro, is ideal for its varied dive sites, for beginners and advanced divers. Here you will also find the largest wrecks of the Balearic Islands. Advanced divers can dive into caves. Offshore rocky islands (Isla El Sech, Sa Porasssa) also offer a great abundance of fish. The marine national parks in the south-west are among the best in the Balearic Islands. The greatest dive sites are approached by boat from the Palmanova!
The diving season in Mallorca starts in April and ends in October. The water temperatures are around 13ºC in April and rise up to 29ºC in August. In October there are still water temperatures around 25ºC. Visibility is best from June to October. The greatest abundance of fish is in September / October. In the spring, due to the slightly cooler water temperatures, there is a chance to find larger squid.
