You won't find salty seas in Switzerland, but the Alpine lakes and rivers make for a unique and mystical scuba diving location.
Lake Geneva offers a multitude of dives to discover. Wall dives and freshwater landscapes can be explored below the surface. There's even a wreck dive - a great place for more advanced divers.
Another example is Lake Zurich, where you can discover excellent diving spots directly from the shore. The lake is serene, with tall mountains cascading from the lake shores. Fed by glaciers, the lake offers sublime visibility. There
Divers will be amazed by the Verzasca, an incredibly clear river located just south of the Alps near the Italian border.
You can dive in Swiss lakes all year round as long as you are well protected. Keep in mind that Switzerland gets cold in winter, and if you plan to dive during the colder months, you'll need a thick wetsuit or drysuit to explore the waters, which often stay just above above freezing point.
Fly to one of the major cities, then plan your route from there. There are buses, taxis and subways to get you around the busy streets. Further afield, it would be wise to take a train, which will give you the most panoramic views of the magnificent landscapes.
