Belize Underwater offers SCUBA diving, snorkeling, private charters, and island experiences.

Belize offers excellent diving for beginners and experts because many dive sites offer a range of dives. PADI 5-star instructors can assist you with many certifications and courses. Full equipment rental is available, including dive computers.

Thatch Caye Resort is a bucket-list destination with over-the-water bungalows and 180° views of distant islands and clear blue ocean.

Relax in total bliss surrounded by ocean, beach and island foliage. The moment you hop off the boat and feel the sand in your toes you'll start to unwind from the stresses of the world. The island is complete with an open-air dining area where you can indulge in signature ceviche - caught fresh of course. The family-style dining creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Thatched bungalows are perched over the water, providing the perfect TV, WiFi and phone-free accommodation. If need to check in on the outside world, WiFi and a telephone are available in the restaurant. Upgraded rooms come with rooftop patios and hammocks. 

On the doorstep of the Barrier Reef and boasting its own beautiful fringing reefs, the resort can offer reef experiences with only short boat rides to some of the world’s best dive sites. Other activities include fishing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking or hanging out on the beach. For something more relaxing, you can arrange a massage or yoga session.

How to get there

Arrival

  • The best airport to fly into is Belize City International Airport.
  • From there, jump on a commuter flight from Belize City to Dangrira.
  • A Thatch Caye representative will meet you at Dangrira Airport and take you on a 20 minute boat ride to the resort (advance notice required, additional cost). 
  • Check in time is flexible and based on your arrival time. 

Departure

  • Check out time is flexible based on your departure flights. 
  • Once checked out, the resort will arrange a boat to take you back to the Dangrira (advance notice required, additional cost).
