Description

Yap Divers is based within the Manta Ray Bay Resort and offers 8 purpose-built dive vessels, moored just outside the resort's accommodation.

Fewer than 1000 divers visit Yap over a year's period, ensuring relaxed dives on unspoilt ecosystems. All diving is conducted in small groups, allowing you maximum bottom time and control over where you dive and what you focus on.

With reefs between 5-40m, diving here is suitable for novice and experienced divers alike.

The protected, unpolluted waters around Yap in Micronesia offer impressive biodiversity and big fish life in abundance. Sharks, mantas, eagle rays and turtles take year-round refuge in these warm, crystal clear waters. Visibility regularly exceeds 30m and water temperatures hover around 28 degrees throughout the year. Great distances of reef have yet to be mapped, giving you the rare opportunity to explore uncharted territory.

Resort Description

Manta Ray Bay is a unique and award-winning diver-centric resort on Yap Island, home of the world's first protected population of mantas.

Built by divers, for divers, this resort places a focus on convenience and first-rate hospitality. All of the 35 uniquely-designed guestrooms are located steps from the dive center, which offers eight modern boats to take you out to the best dive sites in and around Yap. Choose an ocean view room to experience total privacy and your own roof top jacuzzi or private plunge pool.

There's a bar and restaurant set aboad a hundred-year-old South Seas Schooner, boasting panoramic views of the harbour and serving up local fresh fish and international delicacies. Top it all off with a cool beer from the resort's very own micro-brewery.

The on-site Taro Leaf spa offers décor is based around island themes, and many signature treatments use locally-sourced plants. Fishing, kayaking and a range of island tours and cultural experiences are also offered.

Yap itself is a small, tropical island, a must-visit for manta lovers, eco-enthusiasts and adventurers who revel in remoteness and uncharted territory. How to get there

Arrival

Having landed at Yap International Airport, a resort representative will be in arrivals to greet you and welcome you to the island.
An air-conditioned transfer will be arranged to deliver you to the resort.
The journey will last around 10 minutes.
Check in after 2:00pm.

Departure

Check out by 12:00pm.
A return transfer to the airport can be easily arranged with the resort.

September 10,2025 I just got back from 2 weeks at Manta Ray Bay Resort in Yap. We went for the underwater photography contest. This was our fourth time there. I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. The diving was excellent. The resort is very well run and extremely friendly. We were treated better than any other place has ever treated us, and we have been to some awesome places. I would highly recommend everything about this resort, from the diving, to the resort, to the spa. I know that in spite of the distance, we will definitely go back. A Great Stay at Manta Ray

The Manta Ray is a great resort. All staff are gracious and quickly greet you by name. The food was wonderful and my stay was excellent. Highly recommend for travelers in the islands.

I’ll be back with pleasure. Relaxed and feeling excited.

The resort is well located with waterfront rooms. The restaurant is a boat very cool and operates well with a variety of good meals. The staff are so warm and kind and very polite greeting you everywhere you go. The rooms are comfortable and clean and well appointed for convenience and comfort. Bill the owner and his family are all over you looking for ways to entertain you and make your stay as welcoming as possible.

A hidden gem in FSM!

A wonderful hotel with fantastic attentive staff. Beautiful decor, having meals on a refitted ship adds to the experience. Yap Divers are located inside hotel and they took care of our gear and tanks. Beautiful dive sites, lots of sea life - manta rays, sharks, turtles, and etc. The trip exceeded our expectations, will definitely come back.
