Description

Nortada stands alone among Galapagos liveaboards on scuba diving charters around the best sites of the Galapagos, including the islands of Wolf and Darwin.

With only 8 Divers on board, the incredible Dive Safari vessel, the spacious Nortada is intimate and caters directly to each individual guest. Traveling to some of the best dive sites in the World, such as Darwin Island, Wolf Island and Cape Douglas/Punta Vicente Roca, Marine Adventurers will see rare wildlife such as flightless Cormorants, Galapagos Penguins, Marine Iguanas and several other endemic species. The vast number of large pelagics and fish species will blow you away. Highlights include feeding Marine Iguanas, the Red Lipped Batfish, Horn Sharks, Mola-Mola and spotting Baleen Whales.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Built specifically for Divers, the 85 ft (28m) liveaboard Nortada has 5 English and Spanish speaking crew members who will ensure the Ultimate Dive Safari. There are 4 en-suite cabins with private bathrooms all on the Lower deck, with 2 Single beds and 1 Single full-sized bunk bed. All the cabins include: air-conditioning, portholes, private bathroom with hot water shower, hand basin, toiletries and towels, reading lights, bedside cabinet and mirror, 2-pin US 110 electricity, bedding and luggage space, possibility for triple occupancy (third full size upper berth).

When not engaged in the spectacular diving, guest of the Nortada can relax on the sun deck and take in the amazing vistas of the Galapagos Islands.

Guests can also rest in the air conditioned Main Salon and watch movies on the DVD player and large screen TV or enjoy music on the entertainment center. The real thrills between dives will be the shore excursions to the amazing islands with its exotic indigenous species. The Land Safari will reveal the creatures Darwin once encountered. Learn about the history of the islands with a visit to Fausto Llerena Breeding Center and Charles Darwin Research Station.

The crew of liveaboard Nortada understands that abundant and delicious food is the key to fueling the action packed dives. Three delicious Chef repared meals will be served a day and will include Western food, mouth-watering Local dishes and Vegetarian options. Dining takes place in the air-conditioned lounge or on the open air deck. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice. All beverages including a selection of beer will be served. Also included are drinks and snacks all day long to ensure no one goes hungry on this dive vacation adventure.

HOW TO GET THERE

The Nortada liveaboard departs from Puerto Ayora on Friday afternoon. Guests fly into Ecuador and take a connecting flight, through Guayaquil or Quito, to Baltra in the Galapagos Islands. Both Guayaquil and Quito have daily flights, although Guayaquil is recommended with cheaper prices and better-timed connections.

You will need to overnight in Guayaquil or Quito before flying on to the Galapagos. To ensure easy flight connections, a 2 night stop-over is recommended. On the return leg you will probably need to overnight in Guayaquil or Quito since most international flights depart too early to make the connection possible. The flight from the islands arrives in Guayaquil (and then Quito) in the afternoon.

We will place your domestic flight requirements with the liveaboard charter operator who is responsible for booking the flights. We request your patience with this process since there are often waiting lists and slow confirmations of availability. You must inform us whether you are flying into Guayaquil or Quito before domestic flights can be considered. If you wish to extend your stay in the Galapagos Islands to enjoy land tours, please decide that early in the booking process to ensure flight availability.
