Ratu Pelangi

Details

Ratu Pelangi was assembled in Bulukumba, Bira, South Sulawesi. This is the land of the Bugis traders, Indonesia’s fearless sailors who have sailed the sea for hundreds of years using only wind for power and the stars for navigation. During that period, their mighty wooden Phinisi ships were the only
mode of transport to allow people to travel and trade goods such as timber, food, and other commodities.

Ratu Pelangi is one of those ships, a modern Phinisi equipped with an engine and restful cabins.

Ratu Pelangi sails the sea the way its ancestors did, only with lesser frequency. It sails to remote islands that are unreachable for big modern ships. The vessel is made of Borneo solid teak wood planks. The boat’s hulls are made of a stronger material called iron wood, which grows even stronger when immersed in the water. This ensures the boat to be a great vessel for long diving trip. Ratu Pelangi features three front sails, two top and bottom sails from the center mast, and two sails from the rear mast. In a stiff wind, the vessel can sail up to 8 knots.

What you can expect

Inside Ratu Pelangi, all cabins and rooms are cooled with air-conditioning and lighting is installed throughout the rooms. On the Lower deck the boat has one big cabin with six bunk beds and two twin sharable cabins with bunk beds. On upper deck we have other two twin cabins with 2 bunk beds. In total Mikumba Satu can accommodate comfortably up to 14 guests.

Ratu Pelangi rustic design pampers the eyes and offers a lot of open space to hang out.

There is a big upper deck that has a spacious dining area under the shade and a comfortable wrap around sofa with a table. Spend your time in the open air on the upper deck, lying on sunbeds or beans bags. Plenty of space and sitting area to relax and sunbath.  Furthermore,  there are two showers on the boat, both on the main deck. The boat itself is equipped with modern safety features such as sonar, navigation, depth sounder, GPS, satellite phone, safety raft, and well-maintained steering.

The crew consists of confident and well-trained sailors who will guide you in Indonesia’s most amazing diving sites safely.

This beautiful, glossy pirate ship brings the feeling of freedom and adventure while you cruise around the scenic islands of Indonesia. The ease and relaxation you will experience travelling on this boat sundeck would be like no other.

Divers on Ratu Pelangi will be provided with fresh towels and linen, water and electrolytes, tanks and weights. What’s more, you have knowledgeable dive guides, plenty of delicious food, tea and coffee along the trip. Soft drinks and beers are loaded onto the boat, in case you need them, at additional charge. The boat is also stocked with medical kits and emergency equipment.

The most important thing to say, you will have lots of adventure and fun on the Ratu Pelangi

Apart from diving, there are other fun outdoor activities to do during the exciting trips.

Adventure a trek to find the extraordinary Komodo dragon, which can only be seen in Komodo national park.

During the walk, we visit the dragon’s nest, walk through the forest and hike up a hill to have a magnificent view over the park. You will have the chance to see other wild animals such as timor deer, buffalo, monkeys, and snakes. A visit to some of the isolated beaches on different islands if time allows us and snorkelling during surface intervals are included. If you don’t feel like doing something or if you are simply tired, then just relax on the boat while sipping a cup of warm tea, search through our fish id books, listen to music, or watch movies.
