Several decks, plenty of storage space, beanbags, sunbeds, shaded areas and air-conditioned interior areas give this boat a spacious feel. Meals are served buffet-style in the cozy salon, and there’s an additional lounge and reading nook to relax in. Blueshark One was completely refurbished in 2018, with a new wooden hull designed by government-licensed engineers and boat building experts to ensure that it would naturally suit to Maldivian water conditions.
The nine cabins are distributed on the lower deck and have one double and one single bed. Each cabin is cooled by an individually controlled air conditioning unit, and an additional fan. Diving is done from a dhoni, to minimize noise and maximize space on the main boat. Members of the Maldives Whaleshark Research Programme regularly participate in the dives and give interesting presentations.
The Eco Pro Divers’ passion for marine conservation is evident in their use of refillable aluminium water bottles, biodegradable shampoos and shower gels, and metal straws. They have been involved in reef and species protection for years and are happy to share their knowledge.
The on-board kitchen offers a variety of European, Asian and Maldivian meals, of which divers are treated to three a day. Soft drinks, fresh juices and alcohol are available for an additional charge. Dietary requirements can be catered for, but please inform the boat prior to your arrival.
Please refer to the logistics section of each itinerary to find detailed info on how to get there.
