The Seychelles islands are a magical place to dive and there is not better way to tour the area and experience it’s blue waters and stunning reefs than the MV Galatea.
The Seychelles, one of the World’s very last frontiers, promises adventure and breath taking natural beauty in pristine surroundings still untouched by man. Galatea is the Divers choice for a diving liveaboard in the Seychelles Archipelago.
Sometimes known as the ‘Jewel of the Indian Ocean’, the Seychelles are a breathtaking archipelago surrounded by clear, warm, azure blue waters teeming with marine life, lush coral and white sand. Thousands of species of fish have been recorded.
What you can expect
The Galatea is one of the most unique and charming liveaboard safari vessels operating anywhere on the Globe. Galatea sails from Mahe at a cruising speed of 7 knots. Under a combination of wind and engine power she will glide you effortlessly from site to site and island to island. She is without a direct comparison.
Galatea is a 30 meter long, 6.2 meter wide Turkish steel schooner, it was built in 1987 in Bodrum, Turkey. In 2010 this yacht was bought by Blue Sea Divers - a team full of Professional Divers, established in the Seychelles since 2002, transferring from Europe and chasing their dreams.
The boat was fully renovated during 2012 to 2013, and the operator has devoted all the experience to make it exceptionally pleasant and functional for Divers. Galatea has become a reality since the summer of 2013 when it is finally reached the archipelago after a long and complete renovation.
Galatea is able to accommodate 12 guests in her 6 cabins. In addition to the 3 crew cabins, the guest cabins are split as follows: 2 x Single Cabins located on the Lower Aft Deck featuring a ‘Queen’ sized bed and private bathroom with shower. 4 x Double Cabins on the Lower Deck also featuring a ‘Queen’ sized bed and private bathroom with shower.
1 x Master Suite located in the middle of the Bow Deck, the Master Suite features a ‘King’ sized bed, bathroom with shower and double amenities. It also features one separate toilet with bidet. All the cabins are tastefully furnished, air-conditioned and sure to offer you a relaxing and comfortable place to relax and sleep.
Outside of the cabins the Galatea is equally well appointed. There is a Saloon featuring TV, DVD and Stereo should you wish to relax indoors and watch a film in the evening or read a book. Alternatively, for the sun-worshippers, there is a sun deck or solarium on the aft deck and also on the upper deck. At the end of a day’s diving there are not one, but two bars! One indoors and one outdoors. So, you can relax with a beer or cocktail as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean vista. Also outside you’ll find an outdoor dining area with space for diners to enjoy the combination of superb Western and Local Creole food.
Galatea also offers to private charter groups all the benefits and facilities of a floating villa enabling the guests to explore a variety of exciting and remote locations with comfort and privacy. As a guest you’re able to customise every aspect of your yachting vacation making it a true star experience.
Galatea is the ideal yacht for Honeymooners, families with kids/elder, or a close circle of friends who want to charter for a luxury cursing trip in the Seychelles.
