Cabins

Description

Experience the remote Solomon Islands by liveaboard on board the luxurious M/V Bilikiki, the only liveaboard currently operating in these waters.

In 1989 MV Bilikiki sailed as the first full service luxury live aboard dive vessel in the Solomon Islands. She was also one of the first in the world to offer private showers and toilets in every cabin

What you can expect

The 38 meters long Bilikiki was the first all-inclusive liveaboard of the Solomon Islands. It is still reviewed today as one of the best liveaboards world-wide. Built specifically for the South Pacific cruise diving conditions, the Bilikiki offers safety and stability,  her large size and a hull that was built for South Pacific seas are two main reasons why guests from around the world still say that "the Bilikiki" is one of the most spacious and comfortable vessels that they have traveled on.

The Bilikiki boasts 10 comfortable deluxe cabins. Every cabin has air-conditioning as well as it’s own en-suite bathroom. More specifically, eight cabins are fitted with a Double lower bed and a Single top bunk. The two remaining cabins have Twin beds with no bunk. Shampoo and soap provided in all the cabins and also on the dive deck showers. We also have 5 hairdryers onboard if you require one for the trip please ask the managers onboard and they will provide one for you.

Power throughout the shipis 240 V 50 cycle, using Australia style 3-prong outlets. There are also plenty of American style 110 V 60 cycle outlets for charging cameras, strobes, divelights, etc. These outlets are only for charging purposes so if you intend to use hairdryers, shavers, etc. you will need to bring adapters.

Described as one of the most stable and most spacious liveaboard, the Bilikiki comes with a great reputation. The Dining Area features more than enough space and the same applies to the Lounge Area. Indeed, the Lounge and Bar areas are comfortably furnished and allow great relaxation moments. The Salon is all set with a large LCD television, including USB port to connect your camera, as well as a multi-format video system.

Excellent Energy fuelled meals will be prepared by the onboard chef

The menu onboard is varied and plentiful, with a variety of locally sourced fresh fruits and vegetables and local cuisine including fish, beef, pork, and chicken. If you have any special dietary restrictions, please be sure these are noted when completing your on-line GIS (Guest Information System) form. All meals are served buffet-style. You will awaken to coffee or tea, fresh fruits, hot breakfast entrees and fruit juice. Lunches feature homemade hot soups, hearty entrees and fresh fruits. Dinners include salads, vegetables, seafood, beef, pork, or chicken with a fresh, homemade dessert. Once onboard, please speak to the chef about any special needs. Please also note that some special dietary requests may not be available due to the remote nature of this location.

The boat’s selection includes fruit juices, soft drinks, iced water, iced tea, and coffee. Alcohol can be purchased onboard. Due to local regulations alcohol will not be served while the boat is in port. Drinking and snorkeling/scuba diving do not mix. Once you consume alcohol, you are invited to enjoy the vessels hospitality for the rest of the day.

The Bilikiki’s best features remain the ones related to Scuba Diving, just the same priority as it was in 1989 when she sailed as the first full service luxury live aboard dive vessel in the Solomon Islands.

Other activities whilst onboard MV Bilikiki

At least once on every trip the Bilikiki arrange a village visit. You'll have a chance to meet the Islanders, see and purchase carvings and baskets and visit their schools and churches. If we're anchored off a village the Islanders will come out in their canoes to market produce and carvings, or just watch what's going on. The children are a real delight. They are naturals in the water swimming, or on it in their dugout canoes.

If you like fishing, the crew will gladly take you out for some early morning or evening hand-lining for tuna and other pelagics. Plan on having your catch for sashimi that evening. The Bilikiki also carries a Stand-up Paddle Board for guests to use.
