Located on the Red Sea, Hurghada was once a fishing village, today it’s a sprawling tourist metropolis packed full of things to do, eateries and nightlife. Hurghada is a popular diving and snorkelling destination and has lots of other water sports available. For those that like their adventure on dry land many desert activities such as sand boarding and ATV safaris leave from Hurghada. Its proximity to Luxor makes it an excellent choice to combine your beach holiday with some culture.
Hurghada itself spans some 22 miles (36km) along the coast. There are three areas within Hurghada. Sekalla is the city centre and more commercial centre. El Dahar is the old part and where you will find the largest bazaar. El Memsha is the most modern side of town.
Hurghada offers day trip access to Luxor and trips to Giza can even be arranged. Children will love a boat trip to see dolphins or a day out at the water park with lots of fun slides and splashing opportunities.
Hurghada has an international airport with connections to Cairo too. Transfer from there by road to your resort.
