Diving in Indische Oceaan

Quick facts

The islands of the Indian Ocean are a varied collection, including many of the smallest territories in the world. Many hug the coastlines of continents; others must be sought out hundreds of miles from any other land. The most well-known destination in this region is of course the Maldives, composed of 26 ring-shaped atolls, which are made up of more than 1,000 coral islands and world famous for its beaches, blue lagoons and extensive reefs. Overall, the Indian Ocean offers diving for all levels, a varied underwater topography from vast underwater volcanic mountain ranges to huge granite boulders covered with soft corals and sponges.
