Known for cave diving, shipwrecks, coral walls and pelagic encounters, Europe’s liveaboard diving destinations don’t disappoint. Explore the underwater environments of Italy, Greece and the Azores.
Europe may not be the first destination that comes to mind when thinking about liveaboard diving, but there’s plenty of ocean to cover. In Italy, Sicily and the Tuscan Archipelago boast caves and ancient shipwrecks in addition to gorgonian-covered walls of hardened lava. In Greece, you can sail between distant isles in search of WWII wrecks and clear waters full of life. The Azores in Portugal offer diving over underwater volcanoes and encounters with blue sharks and mantas. Liveaboards are the best option for exploring these destinations, and more routes are always being added. Typical itineraries last 6 to 7 nights, and the best time to dive in Europe is from April to November.
