Fastest route: Take the N2 via Somerset West and Sir Lowry’s Pass, then onto the R43 to Hermanus. It’s ~120 km and takes around 90 minutes
Scenic coastal route: Detour onto the R44 via Gordon’s Bay, Betty’s Bay, and Kleinmond before joining the R43. Adds about 30 minutes but offers dramatic ocean views and possible whale sightings en route
