Scuba Warehouse is a PADI 5-STAR Instructor Development Centre, has been in the business of providing adventure to people with busy lifestyles for over 18 years.
"Everyone needs an escape from the daily pressures, and being underwater is a great escape," says owner Judith McDonald.
"We run a range of programs. Along with providing adventure scuba training to individual and corporate groups, Scuba Warehouse runs regular snorkelling programs suitable for the whole family."
Every weekend, this Parramatta based business, has options ranging from a relaxing day on a luxurious cruiser on Sydney harbour, with lunch on board and two scuba dives, to a fun-filled day of shore diving and picnic lunch with the club at one of Sydney's magnificent national parks.
To allow divers to socialise and organize their dive schedule regular Network evenings where club members meet for a meal or a drink at a local pub. "It's all very informal - but a great way of meeting people and relaxing after work" says Judith.
Scuba Warehouse's commitment to excellence was recently confirmed when it was awarded the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) NSW Training Award for "Excellence in Training by a Small Business."
Two months later they were awarded the prestigious "Prime Minister's Small Business of the Year" Award, for "Excellence in Training."
"There is no doubt that our programs for multi-skilling for staff have helped us excel in customer service and allowed us to offer training programs that are second to none." comments Judith.
The company has a staff of nine and provides divers with a one-stop shop to meet all their needs, including retail, dive travel, equipment, servicing recreational scuba training and Scuba Instructor Development and accreditation. Because of the diverse nature of its operations, the company places a strong emphasis on ensuring that, through training, staff are able to provide clients with a quality service in all areas of the business.
Many of our customers are keen on new technologies such as technical diving and emerging diving sciences, such as rebreather diving. Chief Technologist, Terry Smith keeps the equipment side of the business running smoothly. "Dive Computers are now a science in themselves. We assist customers to choose the right diving hardware and keep it running smoothly - assist with computer downloads and making sure our technical divers have the right instruments to deliver the information they need." Says Terry. "We source equipment from all over the world."

Another large part of their activities revolve around escorted scuba trips all over the globe.
Veteran dive traveller, Judith has just returned from exploring two new dive locations, one in the South China Sea and another off Borneo. Since 1982 Scuba Warehouse has offered diving on the cutting edge, arranging dive expeditions for the adventurous.
Recent excursions include activities such as a magnificent shark feed off the outer isles of Vanuatu. A great photo opportunity for the photographers and videographers. Visiting Skull Island, a local burial site in the Solomons. Dives in underwater caves and swimming with dolphins in Papua New Guinea and visiting World War II Wrecks in Truk Lagoon.
Scuba Warehouse offers all types of escapes, not all of them involve an adrenaline rush. Packages for honeymooners with a beach-front burre on idyllic tropical islands are a popular choice and not only for the newly-weds.
"Australians are so lucky having the Pacific on their doorstep" says Judith, "Its cheap, accessible and offers some of the best diving and snorkelling in the world."
Over the next two months, Scuba Warehouse is running expeditions wreck diving in the Solomon Islands, and a cruise holiday on a specially chartered dive vessel through Papua New Guinea waters and a wreck diving expedition to Espirito Santo in Vanuatu.
Local expeditions include a live aboard weekend at Jervis Bay aboard a comfortable fully equipped 18 metre dive charter boat with accommodation for 23 divers. Diving with the dolphins and watching the antics of local seal colonies are highlights of this weekend, along with experiencing the crystal clear waters of this pristine marine National Park.
