It is our priority to keep our guests and crew safe while travelling with us. Not only that, but we want our guests and crew to have the greatest confidence that their safety and wellbeing have been thoroughly considered. To this end, we have put in place a range of measures and associated protocols to manage our expeditions in a world in which COVID-19 exists. We have partnered with Respond Global, an experienced medical advisory agency, to assist us in developing a prevention and response system that is among the most thorough in the world. Our plan focuses on prevention, to target a 100% COVID free environment when we set sail. We will implement a three-tiered medical screening protocol which includes testing for COVID-19, and will ensure that everyone on board will have passed through this screening process. This prevention protocol will be supported by strict onboard mitigation actions and an approved response plan. This plan will be supported by our Standard Operation Procedures, developed for each vessel with cruise profile specific requirements. These procedures have enabled us to maintain a high standard of safety and guest comfort for over 35 years – a record we are proud of. We trust this SailSAFE Plan offers you peace of mind as you plan your explorations of Australia’s coastline, and then the world, with Coral Expeditions.

MV Coral Discoverer provides an intimate, yacht-like cruising experience to remote and fascinating places in the Southern Hemisphere.

Coral Discovery have been fully refurbished in 2016 raising the standards to new levels. Shallow draught  and advanced navigation with propulsion systems allow this ship to navigate through narrower passages and shallower waters which other boats can't reach. The ship can accommodate a maximum of 72 guest in 36 comfortable cabins. All cabins have air-conditioning, storage space, an iPod docking station, either a window or port hole and, the ones located on the bridge deck, have private balcony.

The boat offers different social areas including a spacious and modern dining room, three fully-stocked cocktail bars, a sundeck with loungers to enjoy the weather and sea views, and a wine cellar featuring boutique Australian wines.

The talented chefs cook up plentiful and varied selections of local and international cuisine three times a day;  fresh continental or a hot breakfast, buffet lunch with a selection of hot and cold dishes and the dinner evening meals vary between a barbecue, brasserie or a three-course table a la carte dinner menu. Lunch and dinner are accompanied by a curated beverage list, featuring boutique Australian and New Zealand wines and beers.

Vegetarian, vegans, gluten and dairy-free items are included in all menus. The chefs will happily cater to other special dietary requirements with advance notice.

A true expedition vessel

A trademark Xplorer tender is used for shore excursions and for more intrepid exploration there are two zodiacs available. A  lecture lounge with multimedia equipment is where expedition briefings and presentations take place; and you'll also find a small library on board.
