Details

Jardines Avalon 4 is a quaint stationary hotel-boat close to the natural wonders of the Jardines de la Reina.

This diver-friendly accommodation enables guests to spend time customizing their schedule, diving with sharks twice a day or spending more time exploring unknown dive sites. You are sure to have great marine life encounters no matter which sites you dive.

Life aboard Jardines Avalon 4

The liveaboard Jardines Avalon 4 is a 180-foot, four-deck houseboat run by two Italian managers and a friendly crew. Anchored in a protected channel, this floating hotel provides a unique opportunity for staying and diving in the Jardines de la Reina. As an added bonus, you’ll never get seasick on this unique liveaboard because it never moves.

Each week, the delightful liveaboard crew welcomes guests for seven-night stays. Adventures begin on a Saturday in the Cuban port town of Jucaro. You will then be brought by speed boat to this unique dive resort which lies two to three hours off the Cuban mainland.

From the boat, you can easily access the remote coral reefs and mangrove gardens. Dive sites that are rarely explored can be found a short 10-20 minute boat ride from the liveaboard hotel.

Live as close to nature as possible, while still enjoying hotel comforts

Completely outfitted with divers in mind, Jardines Avalon 4 accommodates scuba equipment and seamless diving routines in every way possible. A spacious dive deck boasts dive gear storage and rinse tanks, full gear rental is available, and DIN adaptors are provided for those in need.

Enjoy the large air-conditioned lounge between dives

The lounge is found on the main deck and, at either side, there are two outdoor areas, furnished with chairs and tables for relaxing in the Caribbean sun after a long day of diving.

The top deck features a sun area with a jacuzzi and a wet bar, and the upper deck is a lovely place for al fresco dining. The main deck  has a comfortable lounge area with large couches and areas to relax; this is the main entrance area to the yacht and features a massive rear deck and platform to keep all of your gear organized and easily accessible.  The lower deck is where the crew resides along with the engine room powering this incredible vessel. There are many outlets on board that provide both 110 and 220V.

Jardines Avalon 4 is large enough to comfortably accommodate 40 guests in 20 cabins. The four suites with balconies are located on the top deck, and there are eight double rooms on both the main deck and upper deck. All the cabins have a private bathroom and air-conditioning.

Refuel with delicious meals

Every day you will be treated to lobster and fresh seafood among other International and Cuban favorites. Don’t forget to save room for dessert! The Cuban flan and rum cake are often the cherry on top of a scrumptious meal. Divers will be well-equipped for the rigors of the underwater world while staying on Jardines Avalon 4.

All of your meals are included in your stay, as well as plenty of snacks and 2 liters of water bottled mineral water sparkling and tonic water, various soft drinks, juices, beers, rums, whisky and excellent wines (up to a total of six beverages/ day included in the package). Other wine, beer, cocktails, soft drinks and fresh juices are available for purchase at the hotel bar. Kosher and vegetarian meals can be served with advance notice. You’ll be able to enjoy your meals in the air-conditioned dining area or outdoors under the bright Caribbean stars.

Immerse yourselves in a marine biology workshop

Marine biologists will be speaking about marine conservation and the Jardines de la Reina's unique ecosystem. You will be immersed in a participatory workshop throughout your diving week that integrates perfectly into the diving schedule while building on a long term sustainable conservation initiative through active engagement from each diver and Cuban marine biologists and guides. All travelers will be granted a certificate of participation and completion of this workshop along with a full itinerary of activities that will certify them as legal under US and Cuban regulations for their diving week.
