The "real“ diving in the Maldives takes place on liveaboards, and we are one of the very best. Keana (pronounced Ke-ana) is one of the finest dive vessels in the Maldives. Diving on Keana is outstanding due to many years of experience. We concentrate on the job only and provide a modern vessel with all comforts.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
MV Keana is a new 31m vessel built specifically for diving by a very experienced team. She offers high standards of comfort for a maximum of 18 Divers and uses the latest low-consumption machinery and solar power for a sustainable and environmentally-friendly operation.
All Cabins are above the water line on the Upper and Main Decks. Four on the Main Deck and Four on the Upper Deck. Two cabins are fitted with Double beds, six cabins have Twin beds (which can convert to a double) and there is a Standby cabin on the Lower Deck which has a Double bed with a Single bunk on top. Each of the Main cabins have two opening windows, fan and individual air-conditioning if required. All cabins are en-suite with shower, cold and warm water (heated by solar power).
Hand, Bath and Beach towels are provided for you to use onboard MV Keana. The towels will be changed once within a trip, bedsheets will be changed at the end of the trip only (one week). We have reserve-sets for unexpected changes.
The Main Deck has both indoor and outdoor Dining areas whilst the Upper Deck has a Bar with plenty of comfortable chairs. Additionally, a Sundeck offers sun beds and space to relax between dives. All diving is undertaken from the dhoni meaning more living space on the main vessel. Wi-Fi is available on board free of charge subject to GSM coverage.
THE FOOD ONBOARD MV KEANA WILL KEEP YOUR ENERGY LEVELS HIGH FOR THE NEXT DIVE
There will be three freshly prepared meals a day served buffet sytle. Food is amazing Local Asian and an excellent standard of Western Cuisine. Main foods used include Rice, Noodles, Seasonal Vegetables, Tuna and Chicken, 1-2 times per week Chef will prepare succulent Beef dishes. Vegetarians are catered for and - of course you can always consult with the Chef onboard.
KEANA WAS BUILT ACCORDING TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF DIVERS LOOKING FOR HIGH STANDARDS AND COMFORT, WITHOUT UNNECESSARY TOYS.
We are commited to advanced low-consumption machinery and solar energy to offer more sustainable operations. Since we try to avoid trash as much as possible, we serve draft beer and free water from a machine, almost no tins and plastic bottles (softs drinks such as Cola or Fanta are not available in barrels in the Maldives, unfortunately). Warm water comes from a solar-device, the non-avoidable generators are modern and fuel-effective.
