Colombia offers diving in both the Caribbean and the Pacific. The most famous of these diving areas is Malpelo Island, where you can dive with schools of scalloped hammerheads, silkies and other shark species in a volcanic environment. This liveaboard-only destination is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The other major destination in Colombia is Isla de Providencia, which boasts some of the best wall diving in the Caribbean. While liveaboards to this remote island are few and far between, more routes are planned for the future. Typical liveaboard itineraries in Colombia last 10 to 11 days, and the best time to dive in the region is from July to August and January to March.
