We go for two dives in the evening, one in the twilight while the darkness slowly starts to leak into the water. We follow that with a night dive to explore the reef in a different way to most dives. We depart after the afternoon dive comes back and head to our dive site. This may be a deep or a shallow dive depending on the dive plan for the day. We may have a later sunset and want to do a nice long twilight dive, or it might be an earlier sunset so we go for a deeper dive while we still have the lingering sunshine. We will see the reef start to slow down and get ready for bed on this dive. On the second dive we will start to see the nocturnal creatures come out and play while the darkness envelopes us and we see what the beams of our lights reveal. Look for the octopus, the slipper lobsters, the king crabs and the hunting eels.
