NOTICE AND RULES OF ENTRY & DIVING PERMIT AT SIPADAN ISLAND (EFFECTIVE 01ST JANUARY 2026)
Please be informed that all guests need to obtain an entry and diving permit daily to dive or visit Sipadan Island and it will be subject to approval by the Sabah Parks Management, which is in control of issuing the entry permit.
The total number of divers or visitors allowed to visit Sipadan Island is restricted to 252 people per day.
The resort has been allocated 6 quotas per day, based on the total daily capacity of 252 guests distributed equally among 42 licensed operators.
Due to the limited quotas, we will not be able to guarantee the diving at Sipadan Island. BUT you may have the option to purchase permit. We will outsource the permit for you. The extra charge for the permit is RM 889 Net per person per day, including park conservation fee and diving permit. This purchase is to be paid in advance.
Each diver can only do two boat dives a day and must be a certified Advanced Open Water Diver. “These two boat dives will be counted as part of the three boat dives included in the diving package."
Please note it is a first come first serve basis. During peak season, priority will be given to divers.
The Dive Center will not be held responsible for not being able to provide a trip to Sipadan Island due to the conservation measures by the Government.
However, should the entry permit to Sipadan Island not be approved, we can offer alternative trips to nearby islands such as Kapalai, Mabul, Sibuan, Boheydulang and Matanbuan where there are no restrictions on these islands. You may arrange this trip with our dive team in the resort.
