The PADI Dive Against Debris course is a comprehensive program that educates divers on the importance of marine conservation and equips them with the skills to safely remove and report underwater debris. By participating, divers actively contribute to preserving our oceans and protecting marine life.
This course includes a short classroom session and 1 clean up dive. As there are no materials for this course you will begin your dive against debris course at our dive centre.
Our instructors will teach you about about marine debris and the damage it causes, what it is, where it comes from and how divers are part of the solution. You will learn how to establish a Dive Against Debris® survey, the survey frequency, sites, profiles and equipment. Also the use of photography and knowing what to leave behind.
Once you have finished the classroom element you will complete a clean up dive! During the dive you will work with a team or your buddy to collect any marine debris that you can find (where safe to do so) this includes plastic bottles, can and tires. After the clean up dive you will help to sort the rubbish into groups and log the information on the PADI AWARE app and then our team will take all the litter to be recycled.
After completing your dive, your instructor will help you to complete your logbook and issue your new certification! This is the perfect time to speak to your instructor about other dives, courses or day trips!
Our dive centre is located just back from the Paphos Harbour walkway. If you’re walking along the seafront towards the Harbour look for the mooring’s restaurant, turn right and you will find our centre right in front of you. If you’re driving or taking the bus head towards Paphos Harbour bus station, here there is a large car park with all day parking. Our centre is just across the road and through the stone archway.
