Trip

  • Dive resort

  • 29 Feb - 01 Mar, 2020, 1 nights
  • 10 - 14 people group

Description

Dive the Billion Gallon Underground Lake, Bonne Terre Mine with SCUBASTOP this February, 2020.

Missouri is the location of the world's largest subterranean lake. Explore beneath the surface with a fun group and experienced guide. Dive sites begin already about 50m below the ground, then you have the option of over 24 trails in an underground lake the size of a small town! Conditions are surprisingly great, with around 14°C water and at least 30m of visibility.

Diving at Bonne Terre begins with a map-assisted briefing and safety video. First-time Bonne Terre divers must dive on Trail One first, and a portion of this dive is devoted to standard checkout procedures such as mask-clearing and air-sharing. Trail One is an exhilarating dive with loads to see and explore, including 70m rock pillars, huge archways, an elevator shaft, staircases and structures, slurry pipes, calcium formations, ore-carts and other mining tools and artefacts.
