Have you always wondered how you'd react if faced with a medical emergency? Complete the EFR course and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become the ultimate emergency first responder.
The EFR course consists of 3 parts:
1. The academic module - this involves acquiring the knowledge necessary to assist in your practical skill developments. This knowledge will be tested in an open book examination at the end of the day.
2. Primary care - this part of the course will teach you how to react and cope in life-threatening emergencies. You will learn 8 techniques you can use when faced with patients that aren't breathing, have no heartbeat, are in shock, have a suspected spinal injury or are suffering from serious bleeding. Furthermore, you will also learn how to administer CPR. All these skills will aid you in giving a patient the best possible chances of survival whilst waiting from the emergency services to arrive.
3. Secondary care - this part of the course will teach you basic first aid procedures that you can use in non-life threatening situations, to help ease pain and prevent further injury. For example, learning how to assess different types of injury and use splints and bandages correctly.
