Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Min. certification: Divemaster Certification required
  • Min logged dives: 100 logged dives required
  • PADI Divemaster, or leadership level with another diver training organization. EFR Primary and Secondary Care - within 24 months. (if you do not have this we can also do your training prior to the course) 60 logged dives; documented experience in night diving, deep diving and underwater navigation Logged at least 100 dives prior entering the Instructor Examination (IE) Medical clearance attesting to dive fitness signed by a physician within the previous 12 months

What to expect

  • The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is a comprehensive program that prepares you to become a certified scuba diving instructor. The course typically lasts several days and involves a combination of classroom sessions, in-water training, and practical teaching exercises.


  • During the classroom sessions, you'll learn about PADI standards and procedures, teaching techniques, risk management, and the business of diving. You'll also have the opportunity to practice your presentation skills and develop your teaching strategies.


  • In the water, you'll refine your diving skills and learn how to conduct dive skills and control open water dives. You'll also be assessed on your ability to teach and demonstrate various diving skills.


  • The IDC culminates in an Instructor Examination (IE), which is a rigorous evaluation of your teaching abilities, dive theory knowledge, and overall professionalism. Successfully completing the IE earns you the respected PADI Instructor certification.


  • Throughout the course, you'll be mentored by experienced PADI Course Director who will provide guidance and support to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to become a successful diving professional.


  • Expand your teaching capabilities with 6 PADI Specialty Instructor courses! Specialize in areas like:
  1.  Deep
  2. Wreck
  3. Night Diving
  4. DSMB
  5. O² provider
  6. Nitrox diving (Prerequisite: PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver certification before becoming nitrox instructor)
