Once you book your Advanced Open Water course, we will contact you to plan your dives and send over your eLearning.
Step 1: eLearning
On your own time, access the course material online and learn about 5 diving specialties. You'll learn about Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation as a standard. Choose 3 more dives from a variety of specialties and complete the knowledge review for each. Tell us about your interests and we will guide you to get the most out of your course.
Time commitment: 2–3 hours total.
Step 2: Let's go diving!
Awesome, you've done your homework. Now it's time to go diving!
Day 1: Be welcomed at our dive center
Get comfy with a coffee, meet your dive instructor, and have a chat about the day's happenings. We will organise your equipment and be sure you have everything you need.
Let's go diving!
You'll go out for 2 exciting morning dives of your choice and complete the skills required for each. Some examples are working on perfecting your buoyancy, learning how to identify marine life, and improving your underwater navigation skills.
Day 2: Discover new depths
Your first dive will be up to 30 meters deep. One of our favourite sites for this dive is a sail boat wreck lying at 30m. Experience heightened awareness as you descend slowly into the blue and pay extra attention to your air consumption. This is great practice with your instructor by your side. Keep your eyes peeled for Angel sharks in the winter, they love this place.
Your second dive will be another one of your choice. The third dive will be planned as an extra dive shortly after your morning dives, or if you have chosen to do a Night Dive (our most popular specialty dive), it will be planned during the evening of day 1 or day 2.

You have completed your 5 specialty dives successfully and are now a certified Advanced Open Water diver! Let's hang out with a deco beer/coffee and reflect on the last great days of diving together!
Note: for every specialty dive you complete, you can earn credit toward PADI® specialty certifications.
