Puerto Rico Diving is a small, friendly, family-run PADI 5* Dive Centre, located in Puerto Rico Gran Canaria. We pride ourselves on offering fun, personalised scuba diving in Gran Canaria with high standards of safety. 

At Puerto Rico Diving you are guaranteed exceptional customer service, experienced PADI instructors, small groups and most of all, a fantastic underwater experience at one of our many dive sites. 

We offer a wide range of PADI courses from Try Dives for beginners, entry-level courses such as the PADI Open Water Course and continued education courses such as the PADI Rescue Course. We also run weekly snorkel trips for those who wish to explore the clear, blue waters of Gran Canaria from the surface. At Puerto Rico Diving we have staff who speak English, Spanish, French and Italian. 

It is of the utmost importance to us that every aspect of your scuba diving in Gran Canaria is as relaxing as possible. This is why we conduct all of our activities in small groups and offer a free pick up and drop off service from your accommodation in the south of Gran Canaria.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 12+
  • Min. certification: Open Water Certification required
  • Min logged dives: 4 logged dives required
  • Students participating in the PADI Advanced Open Water Course must be in good general health. A medical questionnaire will be provided before the course starts for participants to check. Please note some medical conditions will require a Drs signature to clear the diver to participate in the diving activity.

What to expect

When you join the PADI Advanced Open Water course with Puerto Rico Diving in Gran Canaria, your experience starts with convenience and comfort. You'll be picked up directly from your hotel and taken straight to the dive site, where your equipment will be ready and waiting for you to set up. With experienced instructors by your side, you’ll dive in crystal-clear waters, surrounded by stunning marine life and volcanic landscapes.

Over two exciting days, you'll complete five adventure dives tailored to your personal goals—whether that’s improving buoyancy, exploring deeper depths, or learning new skills. Choose from dives like Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation, Fish ID, Digital Underwater Imaging, Intro to Rescue, and even Night Diving. The course is designed to be flexible, fun, and focused on helping you grow as a confident, capable diver.

By completing the e-learning (digital theory) for this course you can get a head start at home before you arrive in Gran Canaria. This means you can complete the theory at your own pace whilst your instructor periodically checks on your progress. Then once you arrive in the sun you can head straight into the water to have fun and to start advancing your diving skills!

Pick Up Information

Pick up is provided at the following locations:

- Anfi del Mar

- Arguiniguin

- Maspalomas

- Puerto Rico de gran canaria

- Playa de Mogan, gran canaria

- Taurito

- Playa del Cura

- Platalavaca

After booking, we’ll contact you to confirm your pick-up details. Pick-up is between 8:15–9:00 AM, with the exact time confirmed the day before diving. Please wait on the roadside unless told otherwise.

Cancellation policy

  • Full refunds will be issued for cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to the activity
