If you've always wanted to experience an adventure like no other and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The eLearning option makes the most of your time: you will complete your theory online before you travel.
The PADI Open Water Diver [eLearning] course consists of three main phases: 1) Knowledge Development – You will complete this in your spare time at home, using the PADI learning system. This will cover everything you need to know about basic diving safety techniques, terminology and procedures. For each concept, read the explanations and watch the video demonstration. You'll get support from your local PADI Instructor by phone or email through the eLearning system, and you can schedule an in-person orientation with them. 2) Confined Water Dives: These are training sessions conducted in a pool or water with pool conditions. You will learn and practice basic diving skills as well as techniques to stay safe and run through how to deal with a series of emergency situations should they occur. Pool sessions are great fun and provide an opportunity to become familiar with equipment and techniques in a safe environment. 3) Open Water Dives: This is what it's all about: making your first dives in the ocean! During the four open water dives, you will perform various diving skills both underwater and on the surface to ensure that you are a competent and safe diver. The training part usually only takes up the first part of the dive, which means that you will have to spend a large part of your time diving with your instructor and exploring the underwater world. As soon as your open water training dives are approved by your instructor you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver! This means that you will be allowed to rent diving equipment and dive anywhere in the world up to 18 meters, for life!
