Get ready to see the world beneath the waves! You have already completed the theory and confined water dives (in a pool) before traveling. Now is the time to put into practice what you have learned during the 4 open water dives.
This is the final phase of the PADI Open Water Diver course: your open water dives. You'll make the most of your time at the dive site by completing Phase 1 (Knowledge Building) and Phase 2 (Confined Water Dives) before you travel. These are the three phases that make up the PADI Open Water Diver course. Knowledge development encompasses everything you need to know about basic techniques, terminology and diving safety procedures. Confined water dives are training sessions performed in a pool or in water with pool-like conditions. They give you a chance to get used to the equipment you will use and practice basic diving skills and techniques so that you are safe. Open water dives are the first dives you will do in the ocean. During four of them, you will train various skills underwater and on the surface to ensure that you are a safe and competent diver. Training usually only takes up the first part of the dive, meaning you'll spend a lot of your time diving with your instructor and exploring the underwater world.
