During the Emergency First Response (EFR) course with Magic Island Resort in Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines, you will learn essential skills needed to respond to medical emergencies both in and out of the water. The course is typically completed in one day and consists of both classroom and practical training.
In the classroom portion of the course, our experienced EFR instructors will teach you the knowledge and theory behind emergency first response, including recognizing and responding to various medical emergencies such as choking, cardiac arrest, stroke, and severe bleeding. You will learn how to assess an emergency situation, provide basic first aid, and perform CPR and use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
The practical training portion of the course includes hands-on exercises, where you will have the opportunity to practice your skills in realistic emergency scenarios. This will allow you to gain confidence and improve your response time in real-life situations. You will practice your skills on CPR mannequins, learn how to control bleeding, and stabilize fractures.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive an Emergency First Response certification card, which is valid for two years. This card is internationally recognized and can be used to meet first aid requirements for non-diving related activities, such as workplace safety or general travel.
