Your day begins at our dive center, where you'll be welcomed by our friendly and experienced staff. After a brief introduction, you'll dive into the PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) course. This covers the theory of diving with enriched air, which allows for longer bottom times and shorter surface intervals. Our instructors will guide you through the benefits, potential hazards, and proper use of nitrox. You'll learn to analyze the oxygen content in your dive tank and set your dive computer accordingly.
With your nitrox tanks ready, you'll head out on our dive boat to explore the rich waters of Malapascua. The first dive of the day will focus on practicing your nitrox diving skills, emphasizing buoyancy control and monitoring your dive computer to maximize your bottom time safely.
After a surface interval and some refreshments, you'll prepare for the highlight of the day: the Thresher Shark Specialty dive. Malapascua is famous for its resident thresher sharks, and our dive sites are some of the best places to see these magnificent creatures. Our instructors will brief you on the behavior of thresher sharks, their unique hunting techniques using their elongated tails, and the role of cleaning stations. You'll learn about their importance in marine ecosystems, current conservation efforts, and how to dive respectfully around these animals to minimize disturbance and ensure their continued presence.
Descending into the depths, you'll experience the thrill of spotting thresher sharks gliding gracefully through the water. Their long, scythe-like tails are a sight to behold. Throughout the dive, you'll continue to practice your enriched air diving skills, ensuring a safe and extended underwater experience.
Back at the dive center, you'll debrief with your instructors, discussing the day's dives and reviewing what you've learned. You'll receive your dual certifications for PADI Enriched Air and the Thresher Shark Specialty, marking your achievements and expanding your diving expertise.
