New Dimension Scuba

New Dimension Scuba is a PADI Eco dive centre. We keep our standards high and our ratios low, providing a safe and personalised experience for all our students and divers. We are passionate about diver education and will help you continue developing your skills and knowledge, helping you to become a safe and competent diver. Malta is home to some of the best diving in the world and we have wrecks to suits all diver abilities such as WW2 Destroyers to local Patrol boats, as well as the famous Blue Hole divesite on Gozo. We're small, personal and here to make your diving trip awesome.

As part of an ECO dive centre, we have free drinkable water at the dive centre. Bring along your refillable water bottles for free water while diving with us and avoid buying single use plastic bottles.

Minimum age: 15+
Min. certification: Advanced Open Water Certification required

To take part, you must be medically fit to dive. A "yes" answer to any of the below questions may require a doctor's approval of fitness to dive before taking part: 1. problems with lungs, breathing, heart or blood affecting physical or mental performance 2. over 45 years of age AND either smoke, have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or a family history of heart attack / stroke before age 50 3. struggle to perform moderate exercise 4. problems with eyes, ears, or nasal passages/sinuses 5. surgery within the last 12 months, OR ongoing problems related to past surgery 6. lost consciousness, had migraine headaches, seizures, stroke, significant head injury, or suffer from persistent neurologic injury or disease 7. treatment within the last five years for psychological problems or addiction, or a learning disability diagnosis 8. back problems, hernia, ulcers, or diabetes 9. stomach or intestine problems, or recent diarrhoea 10. taking prescription medications (excluding birth control)

What to expect

Whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef for scuba divers, or lost as the result of an accident, wrecks are fascinating windows to the past.

The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices. With world war 2 wrecks and purposely sunk patrol boats, Malta has lots to explore.

Academic

During your training dives, you’ll learn:

Safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks
Surveying and mapping a wreck
Using penetration lines and reels to guide exploration
Techniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants
Managing your gas

Equipment

You’ll need your basic scuba equipment, plus a dive light to see into the wreck, a slate and underwater compass for mapping and navigation, and a line and spool for practicing wreck penetration.

Pick Up Information

Pick up and drop off can be arranged for accommodation in the following areas: Bugibba Qawra St Paul's Bay Xemxija. If your hotel/apartment or Air B&B is situated in the above areas, you will be required to stand outside the main entrance at the requested pickup time. An accurate address of your accommodation is requested in order for the instructor to collect you and can be provided after booking
