Son Bou Scuba

PADI 5 Star Dive Center

Son Bou Scuba is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort and dive shop since 2004. The centre is centrally located on Menorca’s South Coast, and thus offers the opportunity to dive dive sites all over the island, regardless of wind direction.

Menorca offers excellent diving conditions with average 30-meter visibility and 27° warm water in July & August. We organize daily boat- and shore dives to the best sites Menorca has on offer, including the Northern Marine Reserve. Menorca offers excellent diving, with average 30 meters visibility in warm water, stunning caverns (Pont d'en Gil cavern, Swiss Cheese, La Catedral, Moon Pool, The Belltower) as well as wrecks (the JU-88, the Malakoff & the Ocean Diver).

For beginners, we offer half-day Discover Scuba excursions on a daily basis in the sea - from 10 years onwards. We have special equipment for children available.

In the afternoons, we organise snorkelling excursions by boat in the Northern Marine Reserve.

In our shop we have an extensive amount of accessories to make your diving day even more fun. We are dealers for Aqualung, Apeks, Fourth Element, Mares, Shearwater and XDeep. We also do repairs & servicing for Apeks regulators.

At the back of the dive centre we have a huge parking space for your car or motorcycle.

After the diving, there is no need to wash your equipment. Our staff does this for you as a service, so you can continue your holiday and enjoy the rest of your day!

What to expect

This covers the final phase of the PADI Open Water Diver course: your Open Water Dives. You'll make the most of your time in location by completing phase one (Knowledge Development) and phase two (Confined Water Dives) before you travel. These are the three phases that make up the full PADI Open Water Diver course. Knowledge Development covers everything you need to know about basic techniques, terminology and safety procedures in scuba diving. Confined Water Dives are training sessions conducted in a pool or water with pool-like conditions. They give you the opportunity to get used to the gear you'll be using and practice the basic skills of diving and techniques to keep you safe. Open Water Dives are the first ocean dives you'll ever do. During four dives, you'll perform various skills under water and on the surface to make sure you're a safe and competent diver. The training portion usually only takes up the first part of the dive, meaning that you will get to spend a big part of your time diving with your instructor and exploring the underwater world.
