Requirements

Minimum age: 12+
Min. certification: Open Water Certification required
Min logged dives: 4 logged dives required
PADI Open Water Diver or qualifying entry-level certification. If you have not been diving for more than 12 months, you need to participate in a reactivation program before beginning the PADI Advanced open water course.

What to expect

The Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about advancing your skills. Available also in e-Learning, the first phase of this training is Knowledge Development, which includes lessons on popular specialty dives. In the second phase you'll practice underwater navigation and buoyancy, try deep diving and make three specialty dives of your choosing. During the final phase, after some skill practice with your experience instructor, you'll make five open water dives. There's no exam because this course is truly about having fun and gaining experience. For every specialty dive you complete, you can earn credit toward PADI specialty certifications.
