Let's explore the bottom of the ocean looking for things lost from the surface. Many of those items we find are small enough to put in our BCD pocket. But what do we do if they are too heavy for us to bring safely to the surface? And what if we need to find something that has been lost somewhere in our dive site?
Finding items underwater is both challenging and rewarding. You need to know how to gather information, organize a search and choose an effective underwater search pattern. In your first phase your PADI Instructor will give you practice scenarios to build and hone your skills. During four dives, you'll locate large and small objects using different search patterns. You’ll get hands-on experience using a lift bag and, on the last dive, you’ll plan and execute a mock search operation.
