Highlights

Advance your diving skills! After having taken this course, you will be allowed to dive down to 30 meters/100 feet and will have learnt invaluable skills such as underwater navigation.

  • Make five dives with an instructor and practice something different on each dive (deep diving, navigation, buoyancy, photography, etc.).
  • Gain experience and improve your scuba skills.

Dive center

Haliotis Diving Centre- Sesimbra

Sesimbra is probably the most popular diving location in Portugal. Because of its orientation it is possible to dive all year arround. In Haliotis Dive Center you have male and female changing rooms, classroom, store and filling station. You can also find the biggest boat operating in Sesimbra, our Homarus with 12 meters.

Sesimbra is a pleasant fishing village, just located at 30km from Lisbon being protected by the Natural Park of Arrábida and its wonderful waters are part of the biggest Portuguese Marine Reserve: Luiz Saldanha Marine Park (where the majoraty of the dives are made). 

The diversity of the sea life allows us to see a lot of species at different depths. At the moment more than 1100 of species of marine macro-organisms are known.

What to expect

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course consist of two main phases:
• Knowledge development (5 theoretical modules carried out through eLearning).
• Open water dives where you will do 5 dives in the sea in Sesimbra. Two of the adventure dives are mandatory: deep dive and underwater navigation dive. Then you can choose 3 more different adventure dives like: wreck diving, search and recovery, peak performance buoyancy, fish identification among others.
After completing all the requirements you will be certified to dive up to 30 meters anywhere in the world!
