Dive center

Haliotis Diving Centre- Sesimbra

Sesimbra is probably the most popular diving location in Portugal. Because of its orientation it is possible to dive all year arround. In Haliotis Dive Center you have male and female changing rooms, classroom, store and filling station. You can also find the biggest boat operating in Sesimbra, our Homarus with 12 meters.

Sesimbra is a pleasant fishing village, just located at 30km from Lisbon being protected by the Natural Park of Arrábida and its wonderful waters are part of the biggest Portuguese Marine Reserve: Luiz Saldanha Marine Park (where the majoraty of the dives are made). 

The diversity of the sea life allows us to see a lot of species at different depths. At the moment more than 1100 of species of marine macro-organisms are known.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 10+
  • Min. certification: None
  • Min logged dives: None
  • No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health.

What to expect

Experience one dive in the sea in a protected and shallow bay where you'll be surrounded by marine life.
You'll learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.
This program is a try dive experience that doesn't certify you to scuba dive independently, but shows you how easy it can be!
