What to expect

When you arrive at Laguna Gili Dive Center, you'll be welcomed by Course Director Goto Alparce and our experienced instructor team. We’ll start with a course orientation, where you'll get your schedule, materials, and insights into what it takes to become a PADI Instructor.  


Next, you'll dive into classroom sessions, where you'll refine your dive theory and teaching techniques. Then, we take it to the pool and open water, where you'll practice demonstrations, rescue exercises, and real-world teaching scenarios. Expect hands-on coaching, feedback, and a supportive learning environment every step of the way.  


Throughout the course, you'll experience stunning dive sites around Gili Trawangan, where you’ll perfect your skills in crystal-clear waters. Finally, the journey ends with the PADI Instructor Exam (IE)—a chance to prove your expertise and earn your certification as a professional scuba instructor. Celebrate your achievement with your fellow candidates and step into the world of dive teaching with confidence!

Meet at the dive center

When you arrive at Laguna Gili Dive Center, look for our Orange and and Gray dive shop located right on the beach in Gili Trawangan, near the main strip of restaurants and accommodations. You'll see our Laguna Gili Dive Center sign and dive gear setup at the front. If you're arriving by boat, we're just a short 2-minute walk from the harbor—head north along the beachfront, and you'll spot us easily! Our friendly team will be waiting to greet you and get you started on your dive adventure.
