The PADI® Enriched Air Diver course (also called Nitrox course) is the most booked PADI® course worldwide. Why? Because diving with enriched air nitrox gives you the advantage of shorter decompression times, especially for repetitive dives
Which diver hasn't found themselves in this situation: an interesting wreck, an encounter with rare fish or just a relaxing dive - there is still enough air, but you're on limited time...
Regardless of whether you dive according to the diving table, the wheel or with a computer, decompression dives are to be avoided for us recreational divers.
With Nitrox (normal compressed air with a higher proportion of oxygen, usually 32 or 36%) there is now a possibility to extend the base times without risk or to carry out extensive repetitive dives.
Some divers also report less fatigue after diving with Nitrox.
This course deals in detail with the planning and implementation of dives with Nitrox.
The following components are dealt with:
- Advantages and dangers of diving with enriched air
- Equipment for diving with enriched air
- Use of the RDP with enriched air
- Use of the special RDPs for enriched air
- Special features when diving with 'enriched air'
- How to get bottle fillings with enriched air
- Formulas for 'Equivalent Air Depth' (EAD), oxygen partial pressure and maximum depth
