Get ready to see the world beneath the waves! You will have already completed your theory and confined water (pool) dives at home before you travel. Now it’s time to put into practice what you’ve learned during four Open Water Dives.
This course covers the final phase of the PADI Open Water Diver course: your Open Water Dives. You'll have completed phase one (Knowledge Development) and phase two (Confined Water Dives) before you travel, so you can focus on diving once you arrive. Knowledge Development covers basic techniques, terminology, and safety procedures in scuba diving. Confined Water Dives are training sessions in a pool or water with pool-like conditions, allowing you to get used to the gear and practice basic skills.
Open Water Dives are your first ocean dives. During four dives, you'll perform various skills underwater and on the surface to ensure you are a safe and competent diver. The training portion usually only takes up the first part of each dive, leaving you plenty of time to dive with your instructor and explore the underwater world.
if you're arriving by car, simply drive past the Caribe Hilton and the Normandie Hotel on Av. Luis Muñoz Rivera. After you pass the stadium, turn right at the traffic light and enter Escambron Beach. Please note that there is a $5 parking fee, which you can pay to the attendant upon arrival. Once you've paid the fee, continue driving straight through the palm tree path - do not park in the lot next to the attendant. Keep driving until you reach the end of the palm tree path, and you'll see a roundabout. Continue straight across it and keep driving until you reach the next lot where you'll find us. Look out for a large, white Ford Transit Cargo Van with a giant red dive flag in the parking lot next to the water - that's where we'll be waiting for you!
