PADI 5 Star Dive Center

Pocna Dive Center will celebrate its 12th anniversary in December 2024. It is located inside the Selina Hostel/Hotel, which has a beautiful Caribbean beach, restaurant, and pool areas. This 5-Star Instructor Development Center is set up to accommodate courses and experiences for all levels and fun dive packages for anyone to enjoy.

The dive sites visited by the center are located in the three marine parks of the Parque Nacional, Manchones, Punta Cancun, and Punta Nizuc. These waters are home to a diverse range of marine life, including sea turtles, starfish, moray eels, Caribbean lobster, magnificent nurse sharks, and an endless variety of colorful fish.

Depending on the season, some extraordinary and extremely mentionable gatherings occur:

in the early summer months, Loggerhead Sea Turtles get together for their mating season
during the entire summer, the Whale Sharks can be visited while feeding in groups of up to 50-100 animals at the time
In the winter months, schools of Spotted Eagle Rays give our shipwreck dives an unforgettable magical atmosphere.

What to expect

It’s easy to get disoriented underwater if you don’t know how to use a compass or natural navigation clues. In the first phase you will Learn how to easily find your way back to the boat or shore without returning to the surface and avoid long, exhausting swims. In the second phase you will practice using a compass on the surface, then apply your skills underwater during three dives. Learn how to estimate distance, follow natural clues and practice finding your way back to the boat or shore.
